4 Things The Turkey Earthquake Should Have Taught Humans
As I read the news of the Turkey earthquake and scrolled through the comments, I was extremely shocked to understand how hundreds of people (not everybody, really, but hundreds) were against India sending help to Turkey.
People wrote that India should not send help to Turkey because Turkey helped Pakistan in the Kashmir issue; and therefore India should not send help to Turkey even on the grounds of humanity.
This broke my heart to the core.
I believe that these are the 4 THINGS THE TURKEY EARTHQUAKE SHOULD HAVE TAUGHT HUMANS-
- The earthquake in Turkey should have brought us closer together as a humanity, rather than causing division and hardening our hearts like a rock.
It should have made us more humble as it brought with it an awareness that “Life is SO short” and that we do not know the time until we are alive.
2. The earthquake should have brought an awakening within us.
The Earthquake should have brought an awakening in us that all matters related to Religion, Caste, Color etc. should take a backseat in the greater play of this Universe. It should have made us realize that “We are just a DOT” that can be erased anytime from this world.
Somehow man thinks that death is evitable; that he is never going to die.
How can we live in such ignorance even in today’s times? How can we have that egoistic attitude even after COVID? How have we not changed as humans?
3. It should have made us question the Creator.
Rather than becoming more curious by asking more questions and leading ourselves to evolution, we are moving in the opposite direction.
We are debating over whether we should send help to Turkey or not.
At this time of change in the world, we could have asked other questions like,
“How is it that new species of animals and sea animals are appearing out of nowhere?”
“How is it that animals have started understanding the language of humans so well ?”
All the changes happening in the world should have awakened our souls to their Source.
4. It should have made us question our existence and the birth and death cycle:
“Are we 100% sure that our country won’t get any earthquakes in the future?”
“If we do suffer earthquakes, how would we want other countries to react ?”
“Would we want them to keep their differences aside and send help for us?
Or would we want them to leave all of their humanity & let us die in that situation?”
“Should we let the common citizens (like us) suffer the brunt of the political actions of a few ministers?
“ Would we want that for ourselves too if it happened to us?”
Why are we letting the “creator-made human” die for our “man-made country borders that can actually get destroyed in these earthquakes?”
