The main idea behind the movie ‘Tenet’ is time inversion, where objects and individuals can move backward in time.
Tenet Movie Concept : Time Inversion
Time inversion is a key idea where some things, like objects and even people, can go back in time.
By going back in time, the things that are disordered can be turned around, making events happen in reverse order.
Imagine going back in time and changing something which then causes a ripple effect in the entire world. This concept also reminds me of LOKI. Remember how Loki became a Variant once he escaped with the Tesseract and thus created a new timeline. That new timeline would then create a ripple effect with the new reality that creates as a consequence of it.
The Paradox In Tenet
According to the movie Tenet, bringing a change in time inversion may create a paradox. For example, if you kill you grandfather, then it means that you don’t exist anymore, which means that you won’t be able to travel back in time to kill him , means the grandfather continues to exist and so do you. Characters in the movie also keep saying, “whatever happened, happened.”
Tenet Movie Characters
The story follows a character known as the Protagonist, who sets up an organization called Tenet. The Protagonist has to prevent the World War III from happening. He recruits a guy named Neil to help him navigate through time and change events. Priya (Dimple Kapadia, the Bollywood actress) is too beautiful for an arms dealer but still does complete justice to the role with her brilliant acting.
The Twist in Tenet & The Hindu Scriptures
By the end of the movie, the Protagonist realizes that he’s been playing the main role in his own story. He understands that some things are predetermined, but others, like the fate of Kat and her son, can be changed. Well that’s pretty much what is also mentioned in the Hindu scriptures. I am reminded how my Spiritual teacher taught me that although many things will happen as it is but our Karma(actions) have the ability to bring about changes that can in turn have a ripple effect to cause a major change in our destinies. The problem with our Karmas is that we do not know which is already written and which we are creating a new. that’s why we should always perform each and every action as if we are creating a new knowing that it will have a consequence or even a ripple effect.
In the movie we can see Neil and the Protagonist talking that though whatever happened, happened, they still come back into the past to change a few things that can be changed while others can’t be.
Tenet will expand your consciousness and will make you think concepts in a whole new way, forcing you to question yourself if you can broaden your creativity and imagination.
